Not every document can be walked into an office in person — either because you're not in Washington, or because your document wasn't issued here at all. Mail-in covers both.

You live somewhere else — another state, or overseas — but your birth certificate, diploma, or other record is a Washington document. Mail it to me, and it rides the same weekly Olympia cycle as everything else. Same price as an in-person same-day order, just without the same-day turnaround.
$225 per document.
Your document was issued somewhere else
A document has to be apostilled by the state that issued it — a California birth certificate goes through California's Secretary of State, not Washington's. I handle the correct request form and the mailing on your behalf, to whichever state's office applies.
$75–100 per document, depending on the issuing state's process.
Why the out-of-state form matters
Every state's Secretary of State uses its own apostille request form, and most reject a submission that's missing information or uses the wrong form entirely — which is the single most common reason a mail-in apostille request bounces back weeks later with nothing done. I complete the correct form for the issuing state before anything goes in the mail, so your document doesn't sit in a rejection pile.
