How it works
There are two lanes, depending on where your document was issued and how fast you need it back. Both end the same way: your document, apostilled, back in your hands.
Lane one: same-day, Washington documents
For documents issued in Washington State — birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas, notarized paperwork — when you need it back fast.
Send it in
Drop it off or mail it to arrive by Tuesday. If it needs notarizing first, that happens at intake — I'm a commissioned Washington notary.
I check it
Before anything goes to Olympia, I confirm it's the right document type, properly signed, and ready to be accepted — no rejected trips.
I carry it in
Thursday, I drive it to the Secretary of State's office in Olympia myself and wait for it while it's processed.
It comes back
Apostilled the same day. Shipped back to you or ready for pickup, your choice.
$225 flat per document, state fee included. Full pricing.
Lane two: mail-in, any state
For Washington documents you can't drop off in person, or documents issued somewhere other than Washington — those have to be apostilled by that state, not this one.
Send it in
Mail the original or bring a certified copy, along with where it needs to end up.
I prepare the request
Every state uses its own apostille request form. I fill out the correct one for the issuing state and package it with your document.
I mail it in
Sent with tracking to that state's Secretary of State, and tracked the whole way.
It's returned to you
On that state's normal mail turnaround — typically one to three weeks, not same-day. I'll tell you the honest timeline up front.
$225 for Washington documents, $75–100 for other states, per document. More on mail-in service.
